Literacy Conference Returns Sept. 13
Educator and author Todd Nesloney will headline 蜜桔直播鈥檚 13th Annual Literacy
Conference on Sept. 13. Registration is now open to allow teachers to make plans before
the school year ends.
This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淲rite Your Story: Plain Talk About Literacy.鈥
"This conference has become a highly anticipated over the last 12 years. This is great
for teachers to come together to collaborate and learn how to become even more effective
in the classroom.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Morristown Campus. The cost
of $100 includes lunch. The conference will also feature breakout sessions, book buses,
vendor booths and door prizes. Those attending will receive six hours of TASL credit
or 6.0 PDP certificate for professional development.
Nesloney is the director of culture and strategic leadership for the Texas Elementary
Principals and Supervisors Association and previously served as principal at a Pre-K
through 5 school in Texas. He spent 7 years as a teacher. His books include 鈥淜ids
Deserve It!鈥 and 鈥淏uilding Authenticity: A Blueprint for the Leader Inside You.鈥 He
has published the children鈥檚 book, 鈥淪pruce & Lucy.鈥
Nesloney has been recognized as a 鈥淭op 10 Innovator in Education by the Center for
Digital Education and a National School Board Association 鈥20 to Watch in Education.鈥
He also received a BAM-e award for National Principal of the Year.
