The purpose of the Financial Aid Office at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ is to provide access to higher education for all students by providing comprehensive financial assistance through quality service and timely processing of aid for all eligible students.
How Much Does College Cost?
The Cost of Attendance is an estimated budget for a student's potential expenses in school, with components like tuition, living expenses, and books. Actual charges can be found on the Tuition and Fees page.

We can help you reach your academic goals and save thousands by attending Walters State Community College. Many of our students attend tuition free. We understand that paying for college is a challenge. That’s why we offer several different sources of financial aid.

Were You Impacted by Hurricane Helene?

A Title IV grant overpayment otherwise due from a student under the Return to Title IV (R2T4) Funds (PELL and SEOG) requirements is waived if a student withdrew because of a disaster under the following conditions:
- The student was residing in, employed in, or attending an institution that is located in a disaster area;
- The student withdrew because of the impact of the disaster on the student or the institution; and
- The student’s withdrawal occurred within the academic year during which the disaster occurred or during the next succeeding academic year.
Types of Aid
Most students at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ receive financial aid. Many attend tuition free through scholarship programs such as Tennessee Promise, ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ Promise and Tennessee Reconnect. Learn how you can also benefit from other scholarships, grants and work study programs.
What is the FAFSA?
Have you completed your (FAFSA)? The FAFSA is the application you need to complete to be eligible for financial aid for college. It's free and easy. This application must be completed each year as it is required for all federal and state programs, including the Tennessee Lottery Scholarship and the Tennessee Promise.
