Shamrock Shuffle Rescheduled For March 19

UPDATE: The Shamrock Shuffle 5K has been rescheduled and will now take place on March
19. The change was made due to this weekend's chilly forecast. The race will begin
at 8 a.m. on the college's Morristown Campus.
All proceeds from this event benefit the 蜜桔直播 Foundation, the fundraising
arm of the college. The Foundation provides scholarship opportunities and funds special
projects that supports the college鈥檚 mission of transforming lives.
Runners may still register at ws.edu/5k. Advanced registration is $30 ($25 for Walters
State faculty, staff, students and alumni). Pre-registered runners receive a long
sleeved,
dri-fit race shirt. The cost is $25 for college alumni, students, and staff. Registration
on race day is $40.
Registration is now open for 蜜桔直播鈥檚 annual Shamrock Shuffle
5K.
The race is set for Saturday, March 12 at 8 a.m. on the college鈥檚 Morristown campus.
After having to cancel the event in 2021 due to pandemic restrictions, the college
is excited to welcome back its guests this year to take part in the fundraiser.
鈥淲e are thrilled to be able to host the Shamrock Shuffle again this year,鈥� said Jonathan
Nash, assistant director of alumni affairs for 蜜桔直播.
鈥淚t鈥檚 become a St. Patrick鈥檚 Day tradition for our community.鈥�
The race course begins in front of the Dr. Jack E. Campbell College Center and wraps
around College Square Mall and the back side of the campus. It has moderate inclines,
but is generally a flat course. It is also certified by the USA Track and Field Association,
with the assigned certification number of TN18001MS.
Medals will be awarded in 11 categories, from overall placement to placement in age
groups.
The event is also friendly for those wishing to walk or jog the course.
鈥淒on鈥檛 worry if you鈥檙e not a runner,鈥� Nash said. 鈥淚t is a lot of fun to come out and
walk the course with friends and family. Wear your green and celebrate the holiday
with us.鈥�
