Nelms to Serve on Rural Healthcare Board

Dr. Linda Nelms, director of noncredit health programs at 蜜桔直播 Community College, has been elected to the Rural Health Association of Tennessee Board of Directors. She will serve a three-year term.

鈥淚 have been a member of the association for many years, attending conferences and serving on committees,鈥 Nelms said. 鈥淔or me, the Rural Health Association of Tennessee encompasses all aspects of health care. The organization works to achieve the best outcome for providers, the public and workforce training organizations like Walters State. I am honored to serve and partner in the effort to make Tennessee a healthier place to live.鈥

Founded in 1995, The Rural Health Association of Tennessee is a nonprofit agency advocating for a healthy Tennessee through partnerships, education and resources. With over 800 members, the group advances professional knowledge and development and works to elevate the voices of rural Tennesseans.

Nelms鈥 responsibilities at 蜜桔直播 include developing and planning noncredit health courses primarily for providers. The college offers training for many allied health careers including certified nursing aides, clinical medical assistants, patient care technicians, EKG technicians, phlebotomy technicians and registered dental assistants.
