Computer Science Students Transfer Seamlessly into 2 + 2 ETSU Program

A new agreement between 蜜桔直播 and East Tennessee State University will help computing students move seamlessly from an associate degree to an accelerated bachelor鈥檚 degree path.

鈥淓TSU Computing has seen many successful transfers from 蜜桔直播 move into the high-demand field of information technology,鈥 said Dr. Brian Bennett, chair of computing at ETSU. 鈥淐reating a 2+2 program with this agreement will allow students to complete their studies and enter the workforce more quickly.鈥

Students who begin at 蜜桔直播 will complete courses that provide them with a foundation in computer science. Then students will transfer into ETSU鈥檚 Department of Computing, they will take courses with emphasis on software engineering, database management, data analytics, operating and distributed systems, networking and more.

Students will also have the chance to select a concentration in computer science, cybersecurity and modern networks, information systems or information technology.

ETSU鈥檚 Computing program is one of 12 in the nation to offer ABET-accredited programs in computer science, information systems and information technology.

ETSU aims to help students shift seamlessly from enrollment to employment, and graduates with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in information technology have many career opportunities, including jobs as a web developer, data analyst, network administrator, system manager or information security specialist.

鈥淲e are excited to be able to work with ETSU to create an agreement that provides students with a clear pathway for transition from 蜜桔直播 to ETSU,鈥 said Dr. Tera Howerton, dean of Business and Technical Education at 蜜桔直播.
